2008 Poppy sales will be May 16, 17 & 18 (Friday-Sunday). Dick Blasy is 2008 chairman. We expect to be selling poppies from at least 4 locations this year. Please contact Dick to volunteer at (989) 430-1939).

Initial nomination of officers for the 2008-2009 year will take place at the April membership meeting on April 2. Elections will be held at the May 7 membership meeting.

Some of you have expressed interest in going to the VA hospital in Saginaw to help running a bingo (6-9 pm) for hospital bound veterans. Next time we go, on Thursday, April 17, Willie Coomer will be needing three helpers. If you would like to go, contact Willie at 989-631-1974 or Steve Tracy 989-835-3733. The only prerequisite is that you want to relieve a little boredom in the life of a hospitalized veteran’s confinement, Willie will take care of the rest.

You, (the volunteer) have really stepped up over this past year.

Here’s to you. Thanks to you that have worked the kitchen or served tables or called bingo (from the machine or from the floor). Thanks also to those of you that attend funerals of Midland veterans in your Legion, Auxiliary & SAL covers and salute a deceased veteran and the flag. Thanks to you who have served in an office. Thanks to you who have volunteered once and to those of you who make Berryhill the center of your life.

Hello Ladies,

I would like to wish you all A Very Happy Easter and Spring! Yes, the 1st day of Spring is just a few days away. Hard to believe with snow still on the ground; but hopefully warm weather is just around the corner.

Our Rummage sale is April 3rd from 9 to 5 and April 4th from 9 to Noon. If you have anything to give us it can be dropped off April 1st and 2nd from 8:30 on. WE will also have a bake sale along with the Rummage Sale so if you would like to donate something it also can be dropped off at the same time. We would like Breads, Cookies, Brownies, Pies, Cupcakes, Muffins, just no cakes, as they don't sell very well. WE appreciate all your help.

WE are at 81.90% in membership as of March 14th. PLEASE ladies if you haven't paid your dues yet please do so ASAP. It is $20 and can be sent to Vi Walker, 3311 Green Rd, Midland Mi 48642. Any questions you can call her at 989-631-1518. Let's try and make 100% this year. WE missed it last year buy just a few.

And lastly mark your calendars that the May meeting will be the Mother-Daughter Banquet and we will be giving out our continuous membership pins. I will be sending out letters to those of you who will be receiving one.
